Domestic pollution: watch out for the kitchen!

When we talk about pollution we always think of a phenomenon that concerns the outside world, the world beyond our front door. Contrary to what you might think, pollution is a phenomenon that also affects domestic spaces.
For domestic pollution means above all the contamination of the air we breathe caused by organic and inorganic agents derived from our activities and behavior in the home.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), most of us spend most of our time in enclosed spaces and according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the indoor air is five times more polluted than the air outside. These two figures clearly indicate how important it is to take certain precautions and adopt new behaviours to protect ourselves from the consequences of domestic pollution.
It is estimated that about one third of the respiratory problems, such as allergies and asthma, from which the European population suffers are directly linked to domestic pollution.

How can we protect our health and improve the quality of the air we breathe in our homes?
The first useful action that we can easily put in place is change the air several times a day opening windows and promoting recirculation.
Just do it every 5-6 hours for ten minutes and we will already significantly improve the quality of the air we breathe.
Today there are also good appliances on the market that allow you to purify the air in the rooms.
Another useful action to prevent respiratory discomfort and allergies and lower the level of domestic pollution is avoid smoking in the house.
Some substances that are harmful to our health are contained in the furniturein the paintsin the detergentsin the products we use for thehouseholdIf knowing this is alarming enough, you should know that there are some good ones for sale. natural and non-toxic alternatives that allow us to considerably reduce the presence of polluting agents in the air of our house.
A non-negligible aspect of the phenomenon of pollution can be traced back to our activities in the kitchen: equip yourself with a good fume hood of cooking fumes is certainly a good move to combat the unhealthy air in our homes, given that on average we devote at least a couple of hours a day of our time to cooking.
Another very good solution to improve the quality of the air we breathe in the kitchen is to choose innovative technologies that eliminate germs and bacteria from the kitchen sink.

Plados Telma has dedicated great attention to the phenomenon of domestic pollution and has created a technology, Ariapurawhich has an antibacterial action and helps to improve the quality of the air we breathe in the kitchen: The titanium dioxide nanoparticles in the sink reduce bacterial proliferation and make it much more hygienic and safe than a normal kitchen sink.
