Plados Telma participates in the interzum 2023 trade fair

Plados Telma participates in the Interzum 2023 trade fair. We interviewed Marco Maccaroni, Foreign Sales Manager

From 9 to 12 May 2023, Plados Telma will be among the exhibitors at Interzum in Cologne, a trade fair that has always been of great inspiration to the entire furniture sector for the innovative solutions that companies have been presenting for years, making it the cradle of trends that will characterise the market. With what objective and expectations does Plados Telma participate in Interzum?

The goals and expectations when it comes to the most important trade fair for our industry and as international as Interzum are obviously manifold. If we take into account that the previous edione was held in 2019, and that the next one, in 2021, was cancelled due to the pandemic, it becomes clear that this edione is indeed a major event for every exhibitor.
Plados Telma intends to further strengthen its ties with its business partners. Meeting them personally after the pandemic and not only via video calls is vital. Only they have their finger on the pulse of the market and if you take into account that Plados Telma has a wealth of business partners in no less than 60 countries on 5 continents you can easily imagine that the feedback that can be received will be many and all extremely important in order to be able to better define, together with them, the strategies to be put in place for the future. This perfectly reflects the slogan of this year's Interzum, 'Shaping the change'. In difficult situations, pandemics, war in Ukraine, rising inflation rates and financial crises, the winning companies are those that are able to bring out the best in themselves, but to do so, they absolutely need direct contact with the various relevant markets. The expectations are to find solid, motivated partners who are determined to strengthen their market positions with us.

Trade fairs such as Interzum are not only occasions to present innovative products but are also incubators of concepts, approaches, and production philosophies. Plados Telma has environmental sustainability as one of its strategic drivers and one of its added values, what, moreover, does it want to be an ambassador for with its participation in Interzum?

We will present for the first time on a truly international level our kitchen sink made from a higher percentage of recycled raw materials than 90%. Generating new products, hence new value, by reusing and recycling existing raw materials where this is possible, can and must be done. There is increasing sensitivity to the times of environmental sustainability and this is the message Plados Telma intends to convey through Interzum 2023.

What are the main directions along which the international market is moving?

We are facing a period marked by epochal transitions. We can see this by looking at the automotive world, where the endothermic paradigm seems to have been superseded if indeed, by 2035, the traditional engine as we know it will be phased out, or perhaps it is better to say banned. As a result, the international market is moving along the guidelines of one attention to the issues of climate change, pollution, green and thus environmental sustainability.
Some countries have already got there, others like those on the African, South American and Asian continents are getting there or will get there. The challenge for all companies is to produce green products using clean energy itself. The kitchen, also as a result of the pandemic, is now increasingly seen as a place to live and not just to use for food preparation. The sink, as a natural consequence, has become a kind of customisable and distinctive workstation in every kitchen. The directionone, but also the challenge, is to think about and realise increasingly customised, functional, multi-task kitchen sinks that are also very beautiful to look at.

The goals and expectations when it comes to the most important trade fair for our industry and as international as Interzum are of course multiple. If we take into account, then, that the previous edition of Interzum was held in the 2019 and that due to the pandemic the next of the 2021 was skipped, it is evident that this edition is truly an event of primary importance for every exhibitor. Plados Telma intends to further strengthen the bond with its commercial partners. Meeting them personally after the pandemic and not just via video calls is vital.
