CARE AND MAINTENANCE

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

The non-porous surfaces of our sinks allow a quick cleaning using a normal liquid detergent and a simple action with a soft cloth or sponge. The sink will always look fresh, clean and hygienic. We recommend regular daily cleaning to instantly remove stains from food residues and halos caused by limescale.

EXTRAORDINARY CARE AND MAINTENANCE

- LIGHT-COLOURED SINKSFor organic or other particularly stubborn stains, it is advisable to leave a solution of biological detergent or bleach diluted in warm water on the bottom of the sink for about 8 hours (it is advisable to do this at night). In the morning, rinse with lukewarm water and a microfibre cloth. If the stains persist, repeat the operation several times.

- DARK COLOURED SINKSFor organic or other particularly stubborn stains, it is advisable to leave a solution of dishwasher detergent or bicarbonate well diluted in lukewarm water on the bottom of the sink for about 8 hours (it is advisable to do this at night). In the morning rinse with lukewarm water and a microfibre cloth. If the stains persist, repeat the operation several times.

LIMESCALE

To prevent the formation of limescale stains and halos, we recommend a descaling treatment at least once a week. To remove limescale, which is very visible in dark coloured sinks, we recommend the following procedure:

1) Leave a solution of lukewarm water and normal cooking vinegar or specific descaling products to act on the bottom of the basin for a few hours.
2) Use a non-abrasive sponge to remove limescale and dirt completely.
3) Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water and dry thoroughly with a microfibre cloth.

WARNINGS AND PRACTICAL ADVICE

- Avoid placing hot pans or other hot objects exceeding 300 °C / 572 °F (WARNING! The bottom of a pot just removed from the heat reaches temperatures of over 600 °C.). Pots or very hot objects must absolutely be placed on suitable trivets (made of wood, rubber, etc.).

- Avoid excessive thermal shocks caused by the simultaneous action of very hot and very cold objects.

- Do not cut or chop food directly on the sink; it is advisable to use an iroko wood or polyethylene chopping board that can be purchased in combination with the sink.

- Do not use aggressive detergents and liquids, abrasive and highly alkaline substances, acids. Do not pour alcohol, petrol, trichloroethylene, acetone and solvents in general into the sink, as they can irreparably damage the chemical structure of the sink.

- Do not remove dirt or stains with steel or abrasive sponges. They may damage the surface.

- Avoid accidental impacts from heavy or sharp objects that could damage the sink surface.

DEKAL

DEKAL is a limescale remover designed for Plados sinks. As with everything that comes into contact with water, the sink can also be subject to limescale build-up. As a result of contact with food or drink residues, limescale stains and becomes more and more visible. To remove the stain, which is not on the composite material but on the limescale deposit, the latter must therefore be removed by descaling the sink. DEKAL removes limescale without damaging the lustre of composite sinks. For stubborn stains, EXTRACARE stain remover can be used after removing limescale with DEKAL.

MULTICARE is a multi-surface cleaner formulated with rapidly biodegradable, recognised and ECOLABEL-certified plant-derived agents. It is ideal for cleaning stainless steel sinks, coloured taps and enamelled hobs. MULTICARE respects surfaces and leaves no marks.
